If you are FAS faculty, staff, a DCE Extension or Summer School student, or a GSAS student, follow the steps outlined below
to get yourself set up with a Google Apps for Harvard account. Creating
your account typically takes 10 - 15 minutes of your time. Once your
account is created, you should be able to immediately access it.
For your convenience, you can also download and print out a set of instructions.
Don't have an FAS account or aren't affiliated with FAS?
For Fall 2013, Google Apps for Harvard is being offered to FAS faculty,
staff, contractors, DCE Extension or Summer School students, and GSAS students. If you are affiliated with FAS, but have yet to claim your FAS account, you will need to create your FAS account first by going to the HUIT Account Management tool and clicking on the 'Create a New Account' link. If you are not affiliated with FAS (for
example, if you are part of Central Administration) the project team is
working towards getting you access. If you have any questions

Step 1: Creating Your Google Apps for Harvard Account
Before you can sign into your Google Apps for Harvard account, you must first create it. To do so, follow the instructions outlined below:
If required, click on the "Change your Account Security Questions" link.
If you have not managed your FAS account recently, you may be asked to
change your FAS Account Security Questions (Please note that these
questions are unrelated to Google Apps for Harvard). If you are not asked to change your security questions, then you can skip directly to step 5. Otherwise, click on the "Change your Account Security Questions" link.
Change your FAS Account Security Questions.
Take some time to answer your FAS Account Security Questions. When you
are finished, click on the "Save" button. Make certain to record these
answers elsewhere in a secure place.
After your changes have been saved, click the "Continue" button.
After you save your FAS Account Security Questions, a confirmation
screen that the operation has been successful will appear. Click the
"Continue" button to proceed.
If required, change your password.
At this point, you may be instructed that a password change is required. If so, click on the "Change Password Now" link. Note:
Although you are instructed to change your password, DON'T PANIC! You
may still be able to use your old password. See instructions in step 6. If you are not required to change your password, then skip ahead to step 8.
If necessary, reset your password.
You will be asked to enter a new password for your account. Note:
You MAY NOT HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD. If you wish to keep your old
password, type in your current password in the appropriate fields. As
long as it adheres to current FAS password restrictions, you should be
able to keep it. If you wish to create an entirely new
password, then type the new password in the appropriate fields. Press
the "Reset Password" button to continue.
Scroll down through the results of your password change.
You will be shown some technical information about the results of your
password change. You may also see some errors. If so, ignore them.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and press the "Continue" button.
Manage Your Service.
The FAS Account Management Tool will present you with a menu of
options. Click the "Manage My Services" link to proceed to the next
Add Google Apps for Harvard as a new service.
You will be presented with an "Additional Services" screen. Underneath
the "Available Services" heading, check the "Google Apps for Harvard"
box. Then click "Continue" to proceed.
Confirm your Google Apps for Harvard request.
You will be asked if you want to confirm your service request for
Google Apps for Harvard. Read the note which states that your name and
newly created Gmail address will be shown in the Google Apps for
Harvard directory. If you find these conditions acceptable, click the
"Confirm" button to complete the activation of your Google Apps For
Havard account. Otherwise, you can choose to cancel by clicking on the
Your Google Apps for Harvard account has now been created. Within a few
minutes, you should receive an email to your FAS email address
confirming this process. If you do not have access to your FAS email
account, or do not use it, do not worry, your Google Apps for Harvard
has been activated .See below to access Google Apps for Harvard.
Step 2: Access Your Google Apps for Harvard Account
After following the instructions above, your Google Apps for Harvard account will be immediately activated. Note:
Although your account is immediately activated, Google will not publish
your name or new Gmail account in its directory for at least 24 hours.
This is okay; you may still access and use Google Apps for Harvard.
Once your account is activated, you can access Google Apps for Harvard by following these instructions:
Return to the Google Apps for Harvard web site.
Return to the Google Apps for Harvard web site (http://g.harvard.edu/).
Click on the link to the Google application that you want to access
(Google Drive/Docs, Gmail, Google Calendar, or Google Sites).
Log into your account with your username and password
You will directed to Google Apps for Harvard, and presented with a
login screen in which to enter your FAS username and password. For

When you log into your Google Apps for Harvard account for the first
time, you will be asked to accept the terms of service. Please review
the terms of service carefully. To accept the terms of service and
start using your account, click the "I accept. Continue to my account."
You're done! Weclome to Google Apps for Harvard!
You are now logged into your Google Apps for Harvard account, and can
now take advantage of Google document sharing and editing, messaging,
calendaring, and web site creation. To get yourself started using

We recommend forwarding your new g.harvard.edu email to your primary
email address or vice versa. This will ensure that emails and document
