April 17, 2019 -- Save time with new features in Google Calendar. Go to the GSuites Updates Blog for more information on new features in Google Calendar such as 'Peek' at Calendars and Automatically add Guests. The full blog URL is: https://gsuiteupdates.googleblog.com/2019/04/save-time-with-new-scheduling-features-calendar.html December 11, 2018 -- Google Team Drives now available on g.harvard! Google Team Drives
are shared spaces where teams can easily store, search, and access their files
anywhere, from any device. Unlike Google
Drive, files in Team Drive belong to the team instead of to an individual
owner. Even if members leave the University, the files remain and continue to
be available to the team. To learn more about Team Drives visit the GSuite Learning Center: https://gsuite.google.com/learning-center/products/drive/get-started-team-drive or go to the HUIT knowledge base: https://harvard.service-now.com/ithelp?id=kb_article&sys_id=750b0f2bdb296b8496ab5682ca961947 September 12, 2018 -- Note to incoming Harvard Extension School Students: Please be aware that when you claim your g.harvard account that g.harvard will become your primary Harvard email address. All official communication from Harvard will be sent to your new g.harvard address and your g.harvard account will become your HarvardKey login name. April 25, 2018 Opt in to the new Gmail web app -- Starting today Harvard Gmail users may opt-in to preview the all-new Gmail, with a brand new look on the web. Google will be adding new security features including phishing protection, new AI-powered features, like Nudging, Smart Reply, and high-priority notifications. Note: if you try the new Gmail and want to switch back to the classic version, you may do so from the Gmail settings menu.
February 16, 2018 Google Drive Client Update -- If you are using a local Google Drive Client to access your Drive files, you must update your client before March 12, 2018. This change does not impact online access to files which you have saved to your Harvard Google Drive. If you are using a local client to access your Google Drive files you may either use the new Drive File Stream client or Backup and Sync. Mac users are encouraged to use Backup and Sync due to known issues with the Drive File Stream Client. Either client may be downloaded here: https://www.google.com/drive/download/. Use the chart below to compare sync client options:
